Questions & Answers
Here are some of the most commonly asked questions:
Why is waxing more efficient than shaving?
Waxing will not give you the inconvenient scrapes or cuts other methods will often bring you. It soothes the skin by making body hair grow in thinner, allowing your skin to be smoother, silkier and healthier.
How do Brazilian waxes work?
Brazilian waxing consists of removing all hair or leaving a small vertical strip of hair. We ask that all clients remove clothing from the waist down to insure a more efficient waxing process. Although this may at first feel uncomfortable, it will allow the esthetician to be completely thorough.
Are Brazilian waxes painful?
There is a certain degree of discomfort experienced during a Brazilian wax. However, the discomfort decreases with each wax. Some good advice is to take Ibuprofen or similar medicine an hour prior to waxing session, in order to prepare the skin.
How should I prepare for a hair removal treatment?
For body waxing, plan to exfoliate or scrub the area to be waxed on the day before your treatment, just make sure you don't forget to exfoliate in an upwards motion. Circular or zig-zag motions can actually break the hair.
Sometimes redness and some swelling are normal and should go away after a few hours after treatment.
If I’m pregnant, can I still wax?
Of course. It can be a bit more sensitive during pregnancy, but it is in no way harmful.
What should I do after waxing?
Avoid tanning, working out, or taking hot baths or showers and others activities that may result in sweating as your pores are open and most susceptible for the first 24 hours after waxing.
We recommend using a product to prevent ingrown hairs, bumps and breakouts.
